    Slow starts

Post by bramhallram on Thu 23 Nov 2017, 5:09 pm

A win is a win, but we can't keep starting games so slowly and expect to get away with it. Reading ran all over us and we were a beaten side before half time in that game.

I know we seem to be sharper in the second half of games, but why can't GR get the team to start at a faster pace in the home games ?

Always strikes me that GR has delivered the game plan and as with most plans they dont survive first contact with the enemy, then its 30 mins of hoof and hope.

Second half they realign and all suddenly gets better.

We have not controlled a single game since Hull, whether won or lost. Too much fiddling with formations at this level is not good.
Same as the BD era winning matches, but more by luck than anything, Reading showed that against a good strike force we will get hammered.
That is why I dont want the PL this season, we just aint ready and it will end in a bloodbath once again IMHO

I don't think it is GR telling them to take a rest in the 1st half. Which means it's the players. If players aren't doing as instructed you replace them. GR isn't doing that.

    That leaves me confused.
