    1. ...... I hope he is available for friendlies more often than when he was a player

    2. ...... I hope his squads for friendlies don't get decimated by "injuries"

kept Osian Roberts in back room staff which was a must. he is the poster boy for FAW and his lack of experience is a concern. but worked with the best Ferguson and Van Gaal so hope some of this has rubbed off. if he puts the professionalism he did in his playing career into managing i will be happy. give Tom Lawrence his debut for united if i can remeber

as for playing in friendlies.... there is many man united player cried off with injury excuses as well as others down the years.

I just don't get this I am afraid. It would be like England putting Alan Shearer or Peter Beardsley in as Manager. I hear the Salford lot are doing pretty well but to go straight in as an international Manager???

The I hear Dwight Yorke on the radio this morning saying how patient he has been? Work your way up man, break the apron strings and ply your trade.

In all honesty I have not been following his managerial career all that closely but it just seems like a fans choice based on no proven ability.

International management is now seen as a step down from club management and so both the Wales and England manages are paid less than your average club manager.

Neither Southgate or Giggs could land a Premiership job so the next best thing is a job in International management where the workload and the demands are far less.
