Reading that report it states that DCFC would not give him his entitlement to a hearing beforehand, therefore warning Rush of the planned charges of (alleged) corruption as they gathered what they considered as evidence. The chair of the tribunal said that was unfair so ruled in Sam Rush's favour.

The thing about the report is that DCFC plan to sue Rush for "an indemnity in relation to significant contingent liabilities that will crystallise in the future." Translated means any player Rush was responsible for their incoming transfer who is sold on for a loss a claim will be made by DCFC against the former CEO. A clear out is imminent.

DCFC will be dragged through the high court yet again for proof of innocence or guilt. This is going to get very ugly.

Is the attendance correction admitting we "cheated" or is it merely discounting the 1500 or so schoolkids who were getting in free in an attempt to get them hooked on DCFC?

It certainly looks like we could be making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Again.

If you listen carefully you can just hear the sound of laughter coming from the direction of Nottingham.

I'm not sure why the club are going through with this. Even if they win their case against Rush, which appears on the face of it to be far from certain, they will come out of it with very little credit.

In my opinion they should just move on and focus on building a club with a good reputation.

    Totally agree.

This looks like sour grapes after losing the case about Rush's sacking
and highlights the club's negligence in failing to act at the time about
the inflated transfer fees arranged by Rush and WMD.

If the club was rooked, it was partly their own fault. Must do better!

On a lighter note, the owner of Notts Forest has just been accused of smuggling 1.5 tons of heroin.  That'll keep our pals going down the road until at least mid June.

My position on Rush hasn't waivered since day one of his tenure. My antennae can usually smell out wrong 'uns.

In my opinion. no one who smiles like that when he talks can be trusted.

It appears that every transfer Sam Rush was involved in is being scrutinised. The one point in all this is that the CEO was not a Mel Morris appointment so the owner gave Sam time, and as the old adage goes, "give a man enough rope and he'll hang himself" (allegedly)

Some recent press reports relating to the Rush situation suggest that Morris instructed Clement that Keogh should not be made captain.

I read that too, was it Pearson before him who changed the captaincy?

If it's true bang goes the theory that Keogh and Mel were mates.

It would seem odd that the each manager other than Clement has gone against MM by giving Keogh the captaincy.

Clement had Captain Bairdseye in the job. The other managers have gone with Keogh.

or the allegation may be inaccurate - ie the allegation may actually be that MM got a bit 'hands on' regarding Keogh as captain and Clement acted against MM by chosing Baird over Keogh.

Unless there is something massive I don't think it will ever get to court. There will be a settlement one way or the other (and I expect Derby to be paying) - and unless he really did something borderline illegal or in massive breach then I cant see him losing. Anything financial would have had to have at least been co-authorised by another director.

Well, the Finance Director of the time has been replaced by Stephen Pearce.
