    Tactics wrong.
    Team selection wrong.
Too many players incapable of effort.

No, Geordie, his job is safe.

I think he needs to be given another transfer window, but it has to be better than January's.

It's not helpful to swap managers regularly and we're still in the promotion mix. Sacking him now would be a bit daft.

That said, I wouldn't be in the least surprised if Mel wielded the axe this evening.

After what he's thrown money away on in the last 2 transfer windows in Wisdom, Lawrence, Jerome I'm not so sure

He's made a transfer profit and we're in 7th. He's earned the right to be given one more chance to put it right imo.

Last season after 42 games, we had 62 points and we finished on 67 points.

This season after 42 games, we've already passed last season's total with 68 points.

Those assets your talking about wanted to leave and he rightly got rid.
DCFC isn’t good enough for a player then I don’t want them.
And despite this nightmare repeating itself I still want Rowett.
Tired of the managerial merry go round..time to suck it up

Really? How many managers do we have to go through? Get a new one, need new players to play and learn the system, which means dumping other players clubs may or may not want. Rinse and repeat. Good lord some of you need to realize that this constant changing of managers is part of the problem.

Hmmm let’s look at the common denominator here it’s not the club , the managers , it’s the players! I’m not a Pearson fan but he should have been allowed to sort them out !

    now thats a word.
Things have gone south since Mel came in.
Still, Rowett sold a young player that is now challenging for England national team, and spent 90% of the fee on Lawrence. I cannot accept that. Hughes was on long contract, if he wanted prem football, then loan him out for a season.
You make such decisions on transfer market then you HAVE to deliver. There is no other justification for that.

I have said on here before, we need to be really careful about slagging off Mel. He has chucked millions into this club. He's made a few mistakes no doubt, but we could be in a far worse state than we are.

I've given the example of Gretna as an example of what can happend when single owners cease to fund clubs.

Having a pop at Mel serves no useful purpose at all and could lead to something that would be very difficult IMHO.

I wonder whether some of our problems are down to pressure on managers and
impatience from the fans at PPS as much as from Mel Morris. Derby don't have any
divine right to promotion -- we have to earn it the hard way like everyone else.

It looks as if some of our managers, including Gary Rowett, have gone for a quick fix,
a short term, easy solution, to get immediate results and ward off criticism and calls
for sacking. The signing of so many older players looks that way. But short-term and
superficial don't work. They don't provide solid foundations to build on for the future.

How many of our recent managers have given a real chance to any academy players?
The lads and the managers can't learn much from the occasional ten minute cameo at
the end of a match. Do we write off young players too quickly?

It's all too risk averse - nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Without seeing what he does over the summer I can't say one way or another. I would rather see what he does over the summer window before trashing him.

We have no divine right to be prompted period. I always thought we would finish between 8-10th this year so I am not all that disappointed. Am I disappointed we lost to the two bottom of the table, sure to be relegated clubs, yes. Do I think he needs to go, no. This late season collapse isn't new and happens damn near every year. I bet you weren't calling for his sacking when we were second.

But the main point I have( forgetting he has got rid of Hughes, Ince, Bryson, Martin etc, forgetting he has brought in some crap..Jerome, Ledley, forgetting he has loaned out many good academy players), is the fact the football is dull and boring...and we are paying to be entertained..does anyone think a manager will change his style. He will only buy his type of player and get rid of the exciting type we used to have..again and again..he won't change, nor will his philosophy..so we either accept this turgid style ...or we get in a manager that wants to play attractive football!
