    The Derby Way

Post by chicken on Sun 22 Apr 2018, 9:12 am

December 30th 2017: Derby move up to second and to within 10 points of Wolves with a win over Ipswich

April 21st 2018: With two weeks left of the season, Derby sit seventh, 30 points behind Wolves and looking odds on to miss out on the top six

    Even for us, that’s remarkable.

    Remarkable but not unusual unfortunately.

Not sure what to put it down to as this has happened in three consecutive seasons, under different managers, with different players. Bizzarre!

Still, might as well carry on believing while there's still a glimmer of hope.

    Yep, whilst there’s hope ....

However, I stand by my comment that we will never get promoted whilst Richard Keogh is in the building.

Also, rumours that GR has been sacked. I hope not.

And the very fickle fans who do nothing but highlight our historical failings from the neginning of December, even when we're riding high and beating all comers.

    I suspect that he has.

Yesterday's formation change and attacking mentality were not Rowett's normal approach. That suggests he was under severe pressure from above.

The only crumb of consolation is that if he has been sacked there would be some musings about it on the 'tinternet. There is none. Move on nothing to see here folks.

A few of us were consistent with this opinion, a season before Wembley.

Is Pride Park built on some old, religious burial ground thus the curse? Are the old Celts cursing the club?

A massive 20 points from 19 games in 2018. Relegation form over a protracted period. THAT is what we will be taking into next season's campaign. Frightening.
