If you've been POTS at three different clubs and never been promoted (but you have been relegated), then either:

    1.  You've made some rank bad career decisions, or
    2. Perhaps you're not quite as good as the fans who voted for you think you are.....

Sorry Stocky, you know your football and your opinion is always balanced, except when it comes to Keogh.

I'm not his biggest fan but to point out his errors after every game borders on obsessive. He does many good things and has many strengths and the fact that he has been POTY at three different clubs only suggests that overall he has done well at those three clubs. He has been a first choice starter under enough different managers to suggest that it isn't just the majority of fans appreciate what he can do rather than killing him every week for what he can't.

I'm sure that nobody on this forum thinks that he would be a starter if we had the pick of players across the country but he is decent enough and would possibly even be a few percent better if he felt that he was being micro analysed by a very vocal few on social media.

That's a perfectly fair reply LR.

I can understand your viewpoint, and that of Val and others.

Any defender who did what Keogh did as Villa scored their goal would get slaughtered by their manager and supporters and rightly so. As a single mistake it was a bad one.

Given Keogh's bad decisions over the years, of which this was simply the latest, the question that need to be asked is whether those of us who see his blatant weaknesses are obsessive, or whether it is those who bray his name who are those with the obsession.

As I've said on here, I've never criticised his effort in a Derby shirt. I have criticised his captaincy and, when he has made mistakes, his decision making.

Look at it another way. You're a manager. You bring in a young lad to play CH. The young lad does what Keogh did as Villa scored. What do you say to the inexperienced young lad after the game?

    1. Good call, I want you to do that in the future when we are under pressure in our own box.
    2. Don't do that next time as your job is to stop them from scoring and wandering away from goal and the ball won't work.

Then ask yourself, should GR need to be having this type of conversation with Keogh?

Keogh, do you pay the same attention to the good things that Keogh does, or the mistakes that others make? If you do you largely fail to comment on either on this forum.

I'm sure that you don't need to highlight his mistakes to our manager, or indeed to any of the other managers who have selected him consistently over many years.

Loughie. When Derby were on our fantastic unbeaten run.. Keogh was playing out of his skin...and we never heard a word from Keogh Keogh!

Just out of interest I've just taken another look at the Villa goal and I can't see that Keogh did a lot wrong, he wasn't really involved and didn't get drawn across to the ball, something he regularly gets criticised for on here. If the ball had squirted across the goal he would have been perfectly placed to make a challenge which is what you want from your defenders.

In my opinion the manager wouldn't have blamed anybody for their goal which was correct, because perhaps the most culpable was Jamie Hanson who failed to keep Grealish on his weaker foot, but it would have been very harsh to single him out for criticism in my opinion.

I dunno mate. I was just surprised that his defensive instinct didn't take over. It just seemed odd to see him heading away from the goal and the ball and the area where the action was.

No major issue - but it just seemed odd from a palyer whose main role is to defend.

Valakari. So let me get this straight. You slag me off me for my negatives about Keogh when he makes a mistake (in my opinion), and you slag me off me when I am not negative about Keogh when he has a good game.

Valakari. I'll clear off this board , I've got better things to do to with my time than to put up with your pointless sniping to be honest. No disrespect to others on here intended

    Bye all KK

I’ve never been a fan of Keogh if you look he has to turn his body as he can only pass with the inside of his foot!

KK your much better on this site. The discussion in better balanced on here Dcfcfans is full of Keogh’s Bitches , you can’t move for them on there

    KK.

We value all opinions on here. None of us are always "right" - because its about opinions.

I believe |'m always right - but sometimes I'm wrong - and all of us are big enough to admit our mistakes.

We all disagree over the years. Please stay and fight your corner.

KK - I would like you to stay. One poster shouldn't hold enough sway over you to abandon ship, surely?

Even Stockers and I disagreed once. I don't hold it against him Wink We simply sat down, had a chat and agreed I was right LOL

Valakari - I don't think you intentionally got "personal" with KK but, for whatever reason, he feels that it was. If it wasn't intentionally personal, tell KK so. On this thread and/or via a PM. We are too small a band of brothers/sisters to fall out with one another.

I haven't got personal..but he did with Keogh! Even when the thread was nothing to do with him..he managed to slag him off. I just pointed out that when Keogh was playing really well he disappeared..but the minute he got his chance he has slaughtered him. I just pointed out where I thought, and all those that have voted Keogh their POTY on 4 different occasions thought, that he was wrong!
Personally, I don't care whether he stays on this forum..it is about opinion.

I dont want KK to leave. He speaks sense to me. I also think Val is slightly obsessed with Keogh and doesn’t like to hear anyone criticise him.

    That is my opinion.
