Saw that. It will be good for the lad. Having said that, Wilson appears to have taken his "place" but has failed to impress thus far......

Coventry are the favourites for Thomas.

Maybe. Perhaps if Wilson isn't satisfied by his number of appearances by January he can terminate his loan. Experience of first team football can't harm Thomas' career long term, so long as he doesn't get cut in half by a league 2 thug and gets injured.

Coventry is in League One now.

Yeah, Coventry are favourites but he hasn't gone anywhere yet. I was using ' cut in half by a league 2 thug' as more of an example scenario rather than talking about a specific team/opponent.

Edit: Just seen he has now joined Coventry on loan!

As usual there were more than enough cynical challenges from the DYS recently. Expect more of the same tomorrow at the new name same old Den. Stoke aren't exactly gentlemen footballers and there are more of that ilk in the Championship.

Waghorn - looks run of the mill
Joof the winger - headless chicken
    Malone - can’t defend

    10 million down the drain

Waghorn - looks run of the mill - Goal wrongly disallowed

Joof the winger - headless chicken - I was critical of this signing when it was merely a rumour.........

Malone - can’t defend - Great piece of insight based on a mere 45 minutes of football in which he was NOT reponsible for either goal and was labouring towards the end of the half with a muscle injury which was why he was replaced at half time.....

I am basing my opinions of what I know already and have seen.

Waghorn is a one in four merchant - hardly prolific
Joof is just pace and that’s all he ever was at Brentford so they let him go
Malone has been bombed out many times as he simply can’t defend

Stoke manager Gary Rowett wants to sign Tom Huddlestone from his old club Derby on loan until the end of the season.

It's understood that initial discussions have taken place and both Derby and Huddlestone would be open to him leaving on loan with a view to a permanent move

Jackal, it's a half season loan. That means it ends on January 1st. He will be back at Derby from that date.

FL has said this week in an interview that the idea is to have him playing regular 1st team football and him come back in January ready and able to push for a 1st team place.

Do we really want to offload Huddlestone ? We're not exactly blessed with midfield players who can pick out a team mate with a pass.

Just listened to the Steve Bloomers Washing podcast. They interviewed John Percy. He reckons that Huddlestone is available for transfer as he's not quick enough for Lampard's playing style.

I'm sure that in an ideal world Lampard would get rid of Ledley, Huddlestone and Johnson but as it stands he can only shed the players that other teams want.

There are a whole raft of players out of contract next summer so providing that our fans can act like grown ups and not like spoilt children, demanding instant gratification, we can allow Lampard time to become the manager we want him to be with a realistic promotion push next season.

Not at all, just accepting that we have too many players that probably don't suit the way that Lampard wants to play so maybe peoples expectations should reflect that

There could still be ins and outs at Derby County before the window for loan signings
closes a week tonight. "I have an inkling there may be some movement on both fronts,
    potentially," said manager Frank Lampard.

Derby have made nine signings this summer.

Mason Mount, Harry Wilson and Fikayo Tomori have arrived on season-long loans,
and Florian Jozefzoon, Jack Marriott, George Evans, Martyn Waghorn, Scott Malone
and Duane Holmes in permanent deals.

    Eight players have left.

Matej Vydra, Andreas Weimann, Jamie Hanson, Charles Vernam and Offrande Zanzala
in permanent moves and Jonathan Mitchell, Nick Blackman and Luke Thomas on loan.

But the squad still needs trimming.

Asked if we are any closer to seeing more departures, Lampard said: "No, we're not but a
week is a long time, so we will see what happens over the next week. "I don't want to say
anything that is not done yet. We know we have got a big squad."

The window closes at 5pm next Friday.

KELLAN GORDON has gone to Lincoln City on loan until 14 January.

He has made one appearance for the first team having come on a
substitute in their EFL cup win over Grimsby Town last year.

He impressed on loan at Swindon Town last season, scoring four goals,
and even figured in 2-2 draw at Sincil Bank in February.

    ALEX BABOS

Derby County midfielder Alex Babos has joined Spanish side Real Union on a season-long loan.
The Wales Under-21 international will link up with the Basque outfit, who play in the third tier
    of Spanish football.

The two clubs have developed close links over the past couple of seasons - setting up an annual
fixture to compete for the Steve Bloomer Trophy. Rams legend Bloomer coached Real Union and
famously led them to Copa del Rey glory by beating Real Madrid in 1924.

    KYRON STABANA

Kyron Stabana said he was pleased to put a “really difficult few months” behind him by signing
for AFC Wimbledon. The defender was one of four Derby County Under-23 players to be released
by the Rams this summer, along with Alex Cover, Emil Riis Jakobsen and Matthew Taylor.
