If anyone's interested, I hear Steve Mac wants Butterfield at QPR, but he doesn't want to move so far south. You couldn't make it up.

If I was Frank I would be like you go there or spend the season with the U-21's your choice but you are not part of the first team...ever.

Football League World reports a complication with Vydra's medical at Leeds.

Derby County talisman Matej Vydra has had a complication with his medical,
ahead of a potential move to Leeds United this summer, to the dismay of the
    Peacocks fan base.

According to a tweet by James Marshment, editor of TEAMTalk, there has been
a slight problem in the medical of last season’s Championship top goal scorer.

The tweet stated: “Rumours abound of Hernandez deal and Foden loan. Hearing
a slight complication with Vydra medical though and some talking to do yet…
Currently on holiday for the week and officially off duty so have nothing more concrete.”

    Only at Leeds

Another of the Leeds "sleight of hand" to reduce the price at the last minute?

Why would Vydra take a cut in wages to join an inferior team?!?

DT now saying hold up is at club level ie they are still negotiating details of transfer payment. Vydra could well have agreed personal terms BUT has definitely NOT as yet had his medical.

MF or centre half. 23 years old. The squad keeps getting younger.

Don't know anything about the lad except his preferred positions and his age. Any of you more informed than me?

Being stuck with Martin and Vydra is not a big problem to me..both quality players...its the others we are stuck with like Butterfield, Blackman, Jerome, that is the problem..no one wants them and we pay them all too much

I thought he was going to Leeds LOL

Martin isn't the sort of player Boro are looking for IMO. They will be wanting a quicker player. If thy had sold Assombalonga, Martin may have been a target.

Vydra might now be on their radar...... as well as Waghorn.

As for Vydra, we are hearing different things from diferent "sources". Transfer fee is too high. Wages demands are too high. Failed medical. Not even had a medical yet......

With Evans from Reading, allegedly, on the way our squad is now 26 plus Marriott, Wilson, Mount, Evans and you might also want to add Max Bird in there as well...... that's 30 or 31 players. FAR TOO MANY!!

It will be thinned out now we have sorted out replacements that will lower the wages bill and increase the energy , skill and drive.......

Watch this space between now and the end of August........ but hopefully some out in the next 10 days or so.

He was on Man City's books as a youngster (probably about the time Lampard was there). He looks tall enough to play centre back but from what I've seen in videos he hasn't really got the physique for it. The sweeper role in a back 3 may suit him.

He wants £50000 a week. Good luck getting that from a Yorkshire based club.

Rumours today that Rowett now wants to take Vydra to Stoke after Leeds failed to agree personal terms with him. Seems more likely as Rowett knows the player and vice/versa, plus Stoke will have more money to spend than Leeds due to parachute payments.

I heard Vydra is on more than £50k a week at Derby..which is why we are trying to offload him but no one can afford him. He must have injury issues as he hasnt been involved in pre season either. Also i cant see how he would fit into our new formation. It is more suited to Martin if we need a target man..i understand he isnt mobile enough for our plan A, but would suit a Plan B without changing the formation..just a thought..

It all seems a bit strange oon the money front. With the exception of Weimann, nobody has gone yet but we have Mount, Wilson, Marriott and, it seems, Evans on their way in.

Vyds on a rumoured 50K a week, Martin said to be on 30K and we don't seem able to shift either. Not a wonder really, Vyds is recovering from the "procedure" carried out on his groin. Martin has had "abdominal trouble" for a while which now, reports would have us believe, is colitis. Hopefully all players have insurance cover to cover their wages when injured so neither will be costing the club anything at the moment.

GR was told "no money for incoming transfers" so he upped and left for Stoke. I have offered the idea before that this was a master stroke by MM to avoid paying him any compensation.......

Even after FL arrived, we were told that the wage bill had to be reduced. Since then it has only grown.

IMO it is vital that we ship out half a dozen, either sold, paid off or loaned out, to ease the wage bill pressure.

Who though? The young lads? Might be the easy decision but they won't be on the big money.

Blackman? Butterfield? One of Hudds/Ledders/BJ as we seem to have a 23 year old coming in who is a CD/DM? Of the rest, Anya and Olsson are still injured. Fozzy is needed as cover for Lowe unless we consider Max Bird as his cover but Max is more of a midfielder........ The rest are either first choice XVIII or genuine cover.

My view of the current situation

    Carson - 1st choice
Roos - 2nd/3rd keeper and 3 is the magic number for keepers
Mitchell - 2nd/3rd keeper and 3 is the magic number for keepers
Forsyth - Cover for Lowe or out on loan
    Keogh - 1st choice CD
    Wisdom - 1st choice RB
    Pearce - CH cover
    Lowe - 1st choice LB
    Olsson - injured
    Davies - CH and skipper
    Bryson - 1st choice MF
    Anya - injured
Johnson - 3rd choice DM (4th with Evans impnding arrival?)
    Butterfield - has to go
Hanson - time to go, utility player who will get little or no game time.
Thorne - last chance saloon. get properly fit or it's time to go.
Ledley - toss up between him and Hudds
Huddlestone - toss up between him and Ledley
Thomas - Huge shame as he had a great pre season. Best for him, and DCFC, might well be a loan to another SBC club
Martin - colitis, apparently, won't get game time even fit as he doesn't fit the system and clubs won't want him because of the colitis
    Lawrence - 1st choice
    Bennett - bench
    Blackman - time to go
    Vydra - injured
Nugent - Looking good pre season, Good for 60 minutes then bring Marriott on and ease him in prior to taking over
Jerome - loan/sale as he wont make the XVIII
    Wilson - 1st choice
Bogle - Cover for wisdom and possibly for Bryson
    Mount - 1st choice
Marriott - Super sub to start with before swapping with Nuge
Evans - Young DM/CH cover who will make it possible for Hanson/BJ/Ledley/Hudds (2 of the 4, probably Hanson plus 1) to be sold/loaned out
Bird - Cover for Lowe and MF
    Jozefzoon - bench/cover

    1st XI

    Carson
    Wisdom Keogh Davies (C) Lowe
    Bryson Ledley/Hudds Mount
    Wilson Nuge/Marriott Lawrence

    2nd string (bench and cover)

    Roos/Mitchell
    Bogle Evans Pearce Fozzy/Bird
    Jozefzoon Ledley/Hudds Johnson
    Thomas Nugent/Marriott Bennett

That's 24 players I have named. We have another 10 that I haven't who are either injured or will be waiting on others getting injured/suspended to get a chance. A couple of them don't fit the new system.

Lampard has a huge job on his hands keeping the 16 not first XVIII choices happy. I do not envy him.
