    Possible?

Post by Loughborough Ram on Mon 28 May 2018, 2:22 pm

According to the Birmingham Mail, John Terry has played his last game for Villa after his contract came to an end. Apparently he is weighing up offers from china, the mls or a player coach role.

With his mate potentially taking over at the Rams could it be that 2+2 does make 4?

Probably not but I doubt that it will be our decision.

As assistant manager and occasional cover along the back he wouldn't be a bad choice. You've got to pay an assistant; why not pay one who can also put in a shift on the pitch if things get dicey?

..... but should you pay an King's ransom for one as that is roughly what JT is likely to want.

    a successful player
    a highly rated defender
a player that gives all to his club

I can think of worse coaching our players on how to win

and he also wants to be chelski manager one day - like fat frank - so his ego wont allow him to be assistant to someone he sees as a future rival for his dream job....

5/4 to join. I would have him as player coach pay as you play.

    Please, please, no!

We don't need any more old, slow players - Terry is 37 and too far past his best
to improve any ambitious championship team. Plus his wages will be too high.

Apart from that, he comes across as the sort of person the club should avoid if
it wants to maintain its reputation as a community-minded, family club. He can't
help what is father is (convicted drug dealer) but his own reputation isn't that
    much better.

I would go along with him [Terry] paying us as he plays, £5k a game would do nicely.
