Are we still employing the snakes coaching team or have I missed their departure?

If you have missed their departure RRC then you are far from being alone. The only movement I have seen so far has been Frank and Jody arriving.

I thought the other 3 might go to Stoke as they came with Rowett..but never thought Philips would go! Shame if true...but Frank probably has his own people lined up..just hope he has his signings also sorted!

I saw the Phillips story this morning too. Have to say I am disappointed but hoping Frank has his own team lined up when the WC is over and he takes charge full time.

Apparently Mark Sale and Rory Delap are also going to Stoke but we have been left with Kevin Poole and Kevin Summerfield. Strange that Rowett has chosen not to take Summerfield who has been his number two since day 1 of his management career. Hypothetically, I wonder whether he'd turn up at Stoke the day after we paid him off.

He already is in full time charge Cal. He was contracted to be a pundit for the BBC for 5 games. He has done those 5 games and is already back at Moor Farm.

DCFC said today that these SIX staff have left --
    Assistant Manager Kevin Summerfield
    First Team Coach Mark Sale
    First Team Coach Kevin Phillips
Head of Performance Analysis Joe Carnall
    Head of Performance Dave Carolan
Professional Development Phase Coach Rory Delap

Derbyshire Live confirmed today that these FIVE staff have joined Rowett at Stoke --
    Joe Carnall
    Dave Carolan
    Rory Delap
    Kevin Phillips
    Mark Sale

Kevin Summerfield is the odd man out, because Rowett has chosen
Callum Davidson from St Johnstone as his assistant manager.

Kevin Poole is the only member of Rowett's SEVEN-man support team
still at DCFC. It will be interesting to see if Lampard needs so many helpers.
As it stands, the departures must have reduced the wage bill quite a lot.

I'm puzzled as to how Rowett needed six people to help him do his job, but I'm especially intrigued by what Delap's job entailed. That's a very impressive job title, whatever it means.

How ever did we manage when we only had Clough, Taylor and Gordo Guthrie ?

I'd have a very unintelligent guess that it had something to do with the modern concept of "transitions" - as Schteeve would say - or getting the ball from back to front and how to do it as my old Dad would have said.

I expect that will be in Jody's remit.

If we get Tammy Abrahams, he won't need Kevin Philips to tell him how to score. That would be brilliant.

I am excited.... but then again I always am, pre season, like on Christmas Eve as a 6 year old.
At least ours usually lasts three or four months before we plummet, unlike being bored of you Christmas presents by Boxing Day!

Transition from defence to attack is the official term Stockers and therefore sometimes involves getting the ball from the middle to the front......... Wink
