Almost seems like Morris wanted Rowett to jump ship - impressive in's this transfer window - just hope we can somehow become snake oil salesmen to trim the squad...

We'll have to take a few hits on price, but a good salesman should be able to shift any of them.

Just hope he proves himself like an assembalonga type rather than a Liam Dickinson lower league signing, in lamps we trust

That assumes they want to be shifted! Stirring the pot

I'm chuffed with this. I'm hopeful he can make the step up because unlike others, he doesn't seem to rely on being fast or strong to get goals (which gets found out against better players). It feels like he reads the game and gets himself into goal scoring positions - that will hopefully scale up.

He's got a touch of the Nuge about him.

sounds more like a Jamie Vardy type actually, says he likes to play on the shoulder, use his pace in behind and never give defenders a moments peace...in fact exactly like Jamie Vardy..just hope he turns out to be as good....

Watching his 30 goal highlight video doesn't suggest too much of that, but who knows.. I guess we'll see.

Whats impressive is that in the video i only counted 1 pen and no free kicks. That's a lot from open play. Also both feet finishes adding to my excitement

But no gossip surrounding any of our forwards except Vydra - there are going to be a lot of players taking a lot of money out of Derby for not playing this season

Johnny Russell with end product from watching those clips - some nice finishes but also it seems like everything he tried came off - lets hope he scores a few early doors to give him the confidence and also to keep the moaners off his back

Jack Marriott, goals scored from inside the area, quick feet, quick thinking and quick reactions, can also supply assists. Reading that again I would say I was describing Vydra, only younger, therefore more time to improve.

Now I see Lamps game plan because he has (hopefully) improved the supply line to those who can score and with Tom Lawence taking free kicks and shots from outside the box it mixes it up more.

Puts pressure on defence not to concede as many as they did last season but with youngsters stepping up the competition for defensive duties whoever starts on August 3rd will be kept on their toes, or else! COYR

Does he actually have any pace ?

This is not a knock on him I’m just genuinely interested.
I know there was no pre season games etc etc.
But I thought he was meant to be a little spark plug with pace.
But it’s nit coming across that way 3000 miles away via Rams tv.
So you never get a true perspective of the game or individual unless you are there  imo...so for those that have seen his so far limited appearances...is he fast ?

Don't know if he has pace but he has been off the pace in his few appearances thus far.

I still don't see where Marriot fits in a 433. He's a second striker, not a target man. Same thing for Waghorn, although he can at least play in one of the wide attacking roles.

IMO we are very short at centre forward. Niugent is OK there, but not brilliant and is too old to play every game. It'll be interesting to see how Lampard reacts - assuming I'm correct. Will he just use Marriot and Waghorn as cover for Nugent? Will he try Bennett there? Will he find a new formation? Am I completely wrong and Lampard doesn't need anyone to hold up the play?
