    GTS v Reading (away)

Post by RRC on Mon 30 Jul 2018, 10:07 am

Derby don't have a great record against Reading. They've been
a banana skin several times.  Betting odds favour a narrow win
for Derby but margins of 2 goals or more are 10/1 and up.

Please post your guess before the 8 pm kickoff on Friday.

Someone has to start the ball rolling. It might as well be me.

Barring the one hiccough at the Stags, we had a good pre season and managed to beat 2 PL sides. Reading, on the other hand, haven't won a game in pre season and lost their final game to Palace 0-2. Jake Cooper gave away a penalty and was sent off in the 85th minute at 0-0. Cabaye put it away in the 86th and Fraize Campbell got the other in the 94th. Reading, like us, have pace but they prefer to counter whereas we will play the pressing game which has looked so good in pre season. Possession was 49-51 but shots were 10-23, corners 3-15. That suggests they were in their own half for much of the game. I expect similar on Friday evening. Derby win 1-2.

EDIT : Exeter got in while I was typing so he started the roll......

My plan for doing better in the COYR GTS league is to slavishly copy whatever scoreline Exeter Ram goes for.    Respect

    Reading 0  Rams  2

I had a dream, Keyhole rampaging forward and he loses the ball to a Reading player, they mount a counter-attack so for me it is...………….

Reading 1-2 Rams [Nugent and Bryson]

………………. a nice 3 points to start the season off.
