    Lampard has to change NOW

Post by Jimmy Jimmy on Sun 19 Aug 2018, 12:12 pm

I’m all for good football but when you have players who simply can’t do the basics like pass head tackle etc - aka Keogh - you don’t have a chance .

Frank needs to play his brand of football once he has got us promoted - in the meantime - go 4 4 2

    Get Marriot in
Get Davis and Huddlestone in ASAP
Get a few out including Bryson Keogh Johnston etc

    They have had their day

Go Frank - it’s not your fault - we just have to make do

I think that you're being a bit unfair to Keogh. I'd say that he's fine with the basics. He can head it and kick it. He's also not bad on the ball for a centre half. The problem is that h's being asked to pass like ball playing midfielder and that's something which few Championship level defenders can do. Indeed, I reckon that Davies will actually be worse if Lampard persists with this system. Davies is a better defender than Keogh, but he's slower and slightly worse on the ball. He less suited to this system than the mad eyed Irishish one.

I think that this is where Lampard's managerial career succeeds or fails. If he keeps trying to play like Chelsea he'll be gone before the first frost. If he is bright enough to realise that he has to adapt the system to fit the capabilities of the players he might just go on to be a brilliant manager.

I agree Keogh is getting the brunt of it again we not organized with out Curtis in back.
Keogh had good last season and like I said on other thread he was always charging forward but not this season. The passing is poor between all not just Keogh

With Huddlestone distributing it will all look a lot different!

None of the back five (including Davies when fit) can distribute the ball well enough to play Frank's style, with the possible exception of Tomori.

.... which is yet another reason to go to a back 3 and have them, when they have the ball, give it to one of the midfielders who can then start an attack.

Another advantage of a midfield 5 would be our not getting outnumbered in midfield.

Well, 4 games played, new manager, new tactics, new players and the negativity is already bubbling to the surface because there is no instant success.

Lampard might turn out to be a good manager, he might not but it is too early to judge. When the right time comes along to judge i'm sure we will all agree, for good or for worse, but now is much too early.

These 'fans' who see themselves as 'managers/coaches' should stick to pratting about on their X-Boxes.

A couple of wins may change their minds..especially if we play attractive football in front of a couple of packed houses!

Fans of 40 plus years can say what they like - we pay - we say

This Derby squad is far too big and all over the place at present.

What's an X box, Sir Sydney? Is it one of those square thingies which you peer into to watch rude movies?? Can I get one on ebay?

The problem with the majority of Derby fans is they want instant success.....well it ain't going to happen Frank will be here a long time.

I'm told it was originally designed as an exercise tool for children with malformed hands/fingers due to nose-picking and backside scratching, it was then adapted to control pictures of Lowry figures on a screen and make them do things that the controller was incapable of doing.
