    Next in the EFL(Carabeo) Cup

Post by RRC on Sat 29 Sep 2018, 9:26 pm

It had to be, didn't it?

Derby will visit Chelsea on 30th or 31st October.

Will Mount and Tomori be able to play?

Indeed.....but if our best two players are excluded under the terms of the loan agreement, it will just show how much we rely on them, and how much Lampard has improved the team from last season, albeit temporarily.

Davies back by then partnered by Keogh but what happens when Tomori is available for the next game who makes way? (he says hopefully!)

But will Davies be fit to start the Chelsea game ? His injury seems to be taking a long time to fix and I can't see the club rushing him back.

When he is fit I'd like to see him playing alongside Tomori. We need to find out if they could form an effective partnership as part of a cunning plan to stop giving teams a goal start every game.

Davies has no pace and isnt clever on the ball...why do you think he would be better than what we have had so far?

Because he's one of the best central defenders in the league and he gives you consistency. Whilst I like Keogh and will back him up on most occassions l, nobody would ever point to consistency as his main strength. Having said that I'd like to see us go with Keogh, Davies and Tomouri as a 3 and push Bogle and Forsyth/Malone on as wing backs. Ithink morethan last season that we have the players that suit a 3-5-2 system. Unfrtunately I don't think that it figures in Franks plans

I think Keogh has been consistant in the main. His awards as Player of the Year back that up.

I too believe that Keogh has been consistent.

I think Val and I have a slightly different definition of what type of "consistency" he has provided though !

Ok. I have never known a player that divides opinion so much as Keogh....at least we both like Chris Martin!

We won't know how effective a Davies/Tomori partnership could be until we try it. Davies was our most consistent player last year and we can all see that Tomori is different class.

Makes sense to try them together.

Davies started training with the group last week, Saturday was too soon but he might be in the XVIII for the Norwich game
