After the dismal effort at Blackburn on Tuesday, where Bryson and Cole replaced Holmes and Malone, Derby
kept that losing side to start the home match with Bolton. Bird, Josefzoon and Marriott joined the subs bench.
          Roos
          Bogle Keogh Tomori Cole
          Bryson Johnson Mount
          Wilson Waghorn Lawrence
subs Carson Wisdom Bird Huddlestone Bennett Josefzoon Marriott
Bolton made four changes to the starting lineup in their 0-2 loss at home to Boro.

Derby started passing more quickly, though they were no more accurate with their final balls, while the bigger and
more physical Bolton side sat back. Mount had the first shot of the match, which Wheater deflected for the first corner,
and Waghorn had his shot blocked from the second corner. Derby wisely took their corners short against their very
tall opponents. A few quick Bolton counter attacks found the Derby defence rather sluggish and resorting to hacking
the ball anywere. When in possession, the Rams went back to walking pace and telegraphing slow square passes, which
were easily intercepted even by the ponderous Bolton defence.

A more direct attack gave Waghorn a chance that he should have scored and Bogle and Mount made an opening for
Lawrence who shot straight at the keeper. Derby had a better spell after 30 minutes and their seventh corner led
to a scuffed shot by Waghorn. Wilson was brought down in the Bolton area, and almost everyone stopped expecting a
penalty, but Bryson saw the chance to score a rare Derby first half goal on 37 minutes. Bogle made a chance for
Mount, whose shot was just wide. Mount and Waghorn combined very well to make another chance for Mount, who
scored his 8th goal of the season in extra time.

Wilson, assisted by Waghorn, had a shot blocked and his shot off the rebound was deflected for Derby's 8th corner.
Mount was involved in all the Rams best attacks and Tomori was sharp in defence. Bogle and Waghorn made a
chance for Mount, but his shot was just wide. Mount made amends with a fine header for his second goal from a
Lawrence cross on 55 minutes. A very quick Derby attack left the Bolton defence stranded but it broke down with
another dreadful pass by Cole. Bryson had another chance from a Waghorn lay off but the keeper made a great save.
Lawrence beat a couple of defenders but his cross was cut out and Waghorn burst through the Bolton defence but
    his shot was wide.

Award-winning youngster Max Bird replaced Bryson on 70 minutes and Marriott came on for Waghorn. Derby were
coasting with far more possession than Bolton, who only managed a few counter-attacks. Mount got his hat trick
and 10th goal of the season on 82 minutes with a clever placement in the bottom corner from a good cross by Cole.
Josefzoon replaced Wilson on 83 minutes. Roos had to make a brilliant save after some sloppy play by the Rams.
    FT Derby 4-0 Bolton

    Derby stay 8th with 63 points, behind Villa (5th, 69, beat Bristol), Bristol (6th, 65) and Boro (7th, 64).

Missed the opening as I was away at a record fair in Utrecht. Got in at 0-0 just in time to see a Bolton header directed straight at Roos.

From that moment on it was 1 way traffic. Derby all the way. 4 scored, could have had the best part of 10. 20 shots, 9 on target and others off target thanks to some very good saves from the Bolton keeper.

Hard to believe this was the same XI who were so goddamned awful midweek at Blackburn.

Play like this in the next 5 games and we will be in the playoffs. Play like we did at Ewood Park and we won't. It's either that simple or that difficult.

Missed this because i had to do a training course at work which lasted till 4pm, but got text updates, even though all phones were supposed to be switched off!

I caught the second half on Radio Derby and it sounded good, confirmed by the EFL highlights. If we play like this for the remainder of the season, we are in with a shout. But will we?

All signs so far point to No. Inconsistency has been our biggest trait this season.
