Watched Germany v Holland yesterday. Cracking game.

1-0 on the counter. 1-1 form taking the ball of the oppo and a pass down the middle which saw de Jong control it and put it into the net. 1-2 was offside and should have been chalked off. 2-2 was a penalty that shouldn't have been given. 2-3 good quick passing move. 2-4 similar.

    Really enjoyed it.

Today it was England. Very pedestrian 1st half with England being patient against a team they knew they could beat but didn't want to leave themselves open at the back. Despite that they could have had 4 by HT. Amusing that a mistake in defence led to Kane's 1st. They played what looked like a 1-5-4-1 organised formation. 2 penalties and another goal saw a 4-0 win. Easy win at a canter. Played as well as they needed to.

Bielik played in midfield for the whole game v Austria. Looked calm, strong and composed. Surely he can do the same for us now!!!

    England v Kosovo last night:

We do seem to have a threat going forwards, but what bugged me was when we weren't counter-attacking at speed, our build-up was very slow and cautious, with our players taking the weasy option and going sideways and backwards - where have I seen that before?

For much of the first half we were the better side, yet whenever Kosovo were building an attack, they were virtually always looking for the creative, forwards pass, and only rarely went sideways or backwards.

And we made the mistake of taking our foot off the gas for the second half, so when it got to 5 - 3 we couldn't up the pace and ended up hanging on.

Overall although there was some good stuff to watch, it was pretty disappointing. It isn't as though I wanted us to keep thrashing the goals in, just that we went all stuffy and stale and ended up being outplayed.
