Derby County Side of the Noughties - Nominations

Post by Guest on Fri 18 Sep 2009, 4:07 pm

Seeing as we're all a bit depressed by the results/performances at the moment, I thought I'd open a poll to make peeps feel good about the Rams again. Seeing as we're coming up to the end of the noughties, make your nominations for Derby's best XI since the turn of the millenium.

It has been 10 years of more highs and lows than the most vomit-inducing rollercoaster and there has been some really good players grace PPS occasionally, if never for a sustained period of time like 'in the good old days'. When we have enough players we'll have a poll or something to stick them into a 00-09 XI. Who will be your favourite?

Li if you can make this sticky it may help.

    Cheers

I would like people to contribute, they're not going to if I list 20-30 names are they? Then there would just be a load of 'yeh I totally agree', 'yeh well said', 'that's what I'd have picked isn't that funny', 'I love you', 'I'm trying to score points with people', etc, etc

Perhaps you should edit it to be defenders only on this thread!

    IN which case, I'll nominate:-

Taribo West (am sure he was here!?!)
Chris Riggott (kept Shearer and Owen in his pocket!)
Dean Leacock (a ROCK during promotion season)

    cannot think of any more!

I had my doubts mace, but decided to take a gamble. I think Igor played until 2000 for us before joining WHAM.

I never said anywhere in the post, or the title, to pick an entire side. I said to make nominations - any number of - to put towards an overall side which a poll could be made on, once there was enough nominations made. If people want to put forward an eleven plus subs, fine.

Capice? Or do I have to spell it using little words in big letters?

    Poom

    Mawene
    West
    Carbonari
    Moxey

    Osman
    Eranio
    Huddlestone
    Seth Johnson

    Rasiak
    Hulse

    Subs

    Riggott
    Higginbotham
    Bywater
    Idiakez
    Kinkladze
    Struper
    Christie

This side would do well enough to finish mid table in the Prem, and they have all played for us in the last 9 years.
