If you liked the Departed you will enjoy this. Very similar and Colin Farrell's cockney accent isn't to bad, add in a very fit Keira Knightley and it's a very decent film. However it is let down by a very slow start and a rather confusing plot.

My mate told me about it earlier today, his brothers got it on DVD. I'm hoping I'm not made to watch it, surely stuff like that should be illegal?

Probably out to make a quick buck off the most controversial crap he can put out there. Controversy usually sells, just hope that people avoid this one and it backfires...

I can't believe anyone would even want to make reference to this, let alone discuss it on a forum......which is a trap I have just succumbed to, I'm ashamed to say! Embarassed

If you're wondering about the Spoiler, SER (and MM, seeing as how you quoted the original), It was I that reported it.

I ain't no prude, but as the link was posted on an open forum, I thought it was best to remove it from the grasp of any kids.....not to mention normal decent adults!!

And besides, we're supposed to rate films we've seen, not post link to films whilst advising not to watch, due to it's content.

I'm surprised you've put something like this on here SER tbh, as you've always struck me as a good 'un.......and for the first time since I joined this forum, I'm actually disappointed.

If that makes me a prude, then I'll hold up my hands, because imho, this link shouldn't even be here, Spoiler or no spoiler!

Some members of the forum have children and would not wish their kids to follow the link.

    Totally agree, masoud.

I personally won't lose any sleep tonight, after reading what I read, but the link was open for all to see.

I for one wouldn't like one of Barneys kids, and any others, obviously, setting their beady eyes on what I read.

    As simple as that.

If Barney and any other poster's have kids that read this forum through their log in, then they could still read the link through the spoiler, I believe. That's why I personally think it should be deleted.

I ain't got young kids, and this won't actually affect me or mine.

Just thought it was good citizenship to think of others.

If I've stuck my nose in too far, then I apologise, and willleave it to others in future....like I say, it won't keep me awake!!

To be honest I'm grateful he did, if this is to be/has been released over here, I don't want to inadvertently end up watching it, which may have happened without his warning as I'd never heard of it before.

I apologise if i've made you feel that way Mucker but to be fair i havent posted anything illegal or gave a link to a banned website. This is a film due to be aired in this country soon so for me to disappoint you by posting it seems a tad harsh. There are plenty of other 'over 18' topics discussed on here and although the film i posted is very extreme, it's still classed as 'over 18' like many other films. People have to discuss this film for their university courses so i dont see discussing it on a forum as a problem. Anyway, i apologise if i've offended anyone.

To be totally honest, SER, I came that close to just leaving well alone, and let it run its course, but for once, I thought I ought to act like one of those "responsible adults" I've heard so much about!
Now however, I admit to being a little shocked that this sort of thing will be a) released in this country for public viewing (albeit for over 18's) and b)that it is openly discussed in everyday university courses, so maybe I am a prude afterall! :affraid:

Like I said, I was thinking of others, rather than being directly offended myself, so no need to apologise to me directly. But seeing as you have, then I accept it whole heartedly.

    Maybe I over reacted.
Eitherway, I think the now-imposed spoiler will help, and I think it best if we put this to bed now, so I'll try to resist temptation to return to it.

Apologies for interfering, SER. I'll leave it to other's in future!!

    :fb11:

And to think, I only came on here because I watched Toy Story this afternoon......don't normally even come on this thread!!

That Buzz bloody Lightyear has a lot to answer for!!

    so back to film reviewing

    The Kids are Alright

At least once a year America & then the rest of the film world go crazy because someone in hollywood made a film with a it of a story line. And that's all it is- a bit of a storyline.
It saving grace is that it prevented me from watching Germany's got talent, which, when watching this programme it most definitely hasn't.

    Anyway the film 6/10

    4 Weddings Christmases.

Forced to watch this, was dreading it, but it actually has funny parts, although they are few and far between, the story line is a bit weak too, couldn't help feeling like I'd seen this movie before. Not a great film, but if you're given the choice between this and many of the other christmas romcoms out there, pick this.

    6/10

Having a non-sleeping daughter means I get to watch all sorts of things that ordinarily I would miss by dint of them being on in the middle of the night.

Last night's chance viewing was Werner Herzog's Nosferatu the Vampyre.

Quality stuff and to one who loves Murnau's original, a suitable tribute.
