I'm sure I read somewhere it was being re-opened again.

My favourite wa the Mafeking in Belvoir St. Served beautiful Bass from the wood.
Just a good pub when I first went, no food, no machines.
Old bloke ran it with his son. When he died the son took over and had to put pool tables in, never the same.
Eventually, because of the area it's in they had to close.

Well I used to live in one that is no longer there, the New Inn on Hazlewood Road in Duffield.

What a great life for a teenager, son of a pub landlord, I'd recommend it to anybody.

It would be, when we lived there it had 6 bedrooms and about six room downstairs. Have they still got the car park because last time I went past a couple of years ago they did, which kind of spoilt it as a house in my opinion.

My Grandparents were liencees of the George & Dragon on Albert Street.

It was possibly the biggest flea pit in Derby, but it was where my journeys to the Baseball Ground began as kid, so I still have loads of fond memories.

It became the Lloyds Central Vaults for a while, not sure what it is now.

Being refurbed as we speak. I'm guessing it's more like a matter of days from opening, as opposed to week's.........and the good news is, it's the same folk as are behind our official forum meet up pub!!

Vulcan Arms is still there, at the island, horrible pub... Used to be in the same Thursday night pool group as them.

I noticed that the Greyhound looks like it's re-opening too, which is good, Too many pubs on the mile closed :(

Doubt anyone ever drinks in there, I haven't and wouldn't, but I consider it an icon amongst Derby pubs... I'm talking about the Mitre... I hear that's being demolished to make way for one of those huge Tescos with under store parking....

    http://allentonmarketregeneration.co.uk/newtesco.html

Bring on the Tesco I say... less than half the price for a pint :)
