The films you watch over and over....

Post by Mostyn on Sat 09 Oct 2010, 11:20 pm

Every now and then I go channel hopping and stumble across a favourite or classic film and just leave it on. Some films I've seen numerous times. Tonight I've stumbled across FULL METAL JACKET and last night it was SNATCH! The number of times I've watched either of these films must be in double-figures, but I dont know why!!!

Films that I also leave on if channel-hopping are KILL BILL, THE BEACH, SCARFACE, TWELVE MONKEYS, FOOTBALL FACTORY, GREEN STREET, LOCK STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS, LAYER CAKE, THE GAME, (any of the) BACK TO THE FUTURE(s) and OCEAN'S ELEVEN (remake).

Which films will you leave on if you stumble across them whilst channel-hopping??

Damn Mosty, would be easier and quicker for me to name the films I don't love from your list!!!

    Don't like

    Kill bill
    Back to the future

    Never seen

    12 monkeys
    The game

The rest I love and have seen numerous times (The Beach was the film we saw the first time I took a date to the cinema, needless to say I didn't get much back row action with leo on screen :( )

Other films I can watch over and over.

    Natural Born Killers
    The Godfather films
    Green street 2
    Saving Private Ryan
    Human Traffic
    8 Mile
    Scum
Don't be a menace to south central while drinking your juice in the hood.
    Happy Gilmore
    Reservoir Dogs
    Pulp Fiction
    Billy Madison
    Trainspotting

There are probably more but I can't think of any right now.

Jurassic Park and Terminator 2 have both been viewed an unhealthy amount of times. I don't even need to really watch them anymore, I can play them in my head!

I love Die Hard with a vengeance, Samuel L Jackson is so good in it.
    Lord of the Rings trilogy,
    Gladiator
All the Halloween films, especially H20.
    Cliffhanger
    Rocky 3, the best one.
Braveheart - factually crap but a good film anyway.

Comedy wise - National Lampoons Christmas vacation with the hapless Griswalds ( I have an "Ed" in my family.
Cannonball run with Burt Reynolds, hilarious.

Where Eagles Dare. I've landed on this film quite a few times when channel hopping. I usually watch it till the end. I still haven't seen the first 10 mins.

But THE best is 'The Usual Suspects' The only film I've ever watched and then watched again immediately afterwards. Quite superb.

Most of those mentioned above I would watch again no problem.

'Where Eagles Dare' is one of my all time favorites but I do pretty much love all war films.

I can't believe no one has mentioned 'Aliens' Dunno

'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' as well.

'12 Monkeys' good film brilliant cameo from Brad Pitt, speaking of whom 'Interview With a Vampire'

True, I was amazed about the Alien films but even more surprised nobody's mentioned One flew over the Cuckoo's nest! That's a real classic! There the Wild Bunch too another jewel & for watchability all the spagetti westons, oh shit I wasn't going to get into this, I could go on forever, there are literally 100's I can think of, old 1's war films & westerns,I'm not even going to think about it anymore, what about sat' when I was picking my nose and scanning for something to occupy my mind and came across another absolute classic "Tora,Tora,Tora". That's it I'm out of this one, I'll be on forever.
