    Step away from the forum....

Post by Guest on Sun 10 Oct 2010, 1:40 pm

When everyone can manage to drag themselves away from the forum, I wondered what everyone's favourite tv programmes were - seeing as though films are an a different thread?

I love Deadliest catch - a documentary about crab fisherman in Alaska that's really interesting and highly watchable,(R.I.P.Captain Phil Harris).
Ice Road Truckers - both on Discovery channel.

And who's seen Man versus Food - really funny even though a bit gut-busting.

    Mythbusters
    Flash Forward
    Heroes
    American Chopper
    Skins
    Shameless
    2 Pints
    Benidorm
Doctor Who ( I love it Embarassed )

Amongst others... fortunately their season don't run at the same times of the year!

American Chopper is good - didn't Paul and Paul Snr have a major falling out though? I missed some of the episodes and when I did watch it, Jnr had opened his own shop. Mickey is the funny one. We saw a couple of the bikes, including the spiderman one in Scotland a few years ago, it was a real work of art.

QI - intelligent, off the cuff humour.
I'm still catching up with the repeats on Dave of shows that I missed the first time round.

Grand Designs - because I'm interested in modern architecture.

Yeh they had a fall out, not seen much of the last season but last time I watched it Jnr had started a design company and was working with his dad every now and then on a contractual basis... I know that didn't take off and now he has his own shop and has agreed to do American Chopper: Senior Vs Junior. Looking forward to that.

Their rows were a bit full on though weren't they? Sometimes funny but a bit scary to watch, it made great television. I'm surprised nobody ever threw a punch :affraid: My money would be on SNR ;)

Nothing wrong with glee. It's a good programme, covering a wide range of emotional issues faced by someone of my age.

I'm not big on TV, always been more of a film fan. When I do watch TV though I like sitcoms though now I'm abroad I have to stream everything. A few faves...

    Seinfeld
    Curb Your Enthusiasm
    Blackadder
    Red Dwarf
    The Simpsons
    South Park
    Fresh Prince of Bel Air
    Brass Eye
    The Day Today
    I'm Alan Partridge
    Peep Show

Also, love The X-Files and enjoy those tacky "World's Greatest Police Chases" shows for some reason.

Jnr still has that little bit of fear and massive amounts of respect for his father, I definitely think Snr would come out on top.

Did you Calif? He always seemed like a good sort. It was a shame he died, although that particular episode hasn't aired over here yet, it will be this Tuesday when it's shown.

Have watched catch from the beginning and I knew he was very ill - but when his son told him he was an addict 18 hours before, it wasn't surprising that he had a stroke. At least he managed to hang on and clear things up with his sons.
Captain Phil was the best out of all the captains, followed by Sig and Andy but his coffee hasn't made it over here yet. I'll keep looking though as I can't function in the morning without several coffee's!
If anyone gets the chance to watch d.catch, do so as it's a great programme. It's won several Emmy's I think.

He was just like he was on TV. I was 7 months preggo at the time and we got a box set signed by him. He stayed over an hour after he was going to leave due to the line. It was sad when he passed but even when I saw him he was drinking Red Bull and smoking up a storm.
