Saw Notting Hill again for the first time in quite a while last night...ok, a bit OTT and you have to suspend your disbelief at times but the characters and dialogue are excellent...really funny in parts..really enjoyed it...8/10 Thumbs up

Loved it. Really like the Salander character and thought the suspense was built up nice and slowly rather than the kerrpow! that seems to be the done thing in Hollywood these days.

Will watch the second part of the trilogy tonight.

    8.5/10

My dad has just lent me the trilogy of books...says they are an excellent read.....

Funny you should say that, the missis made me watch Love Actually a few days ago and once I'd got over the uncertainty of a chick flick I actually quite enjoyed it.

    The Lovely Bones

Possibly the wierdest film I've seen. I can imagine stoners would love this film.

Basically starts off with your standard "pretty innocent young girl gets murdered by the neighbourhood wierdo" storyline. It then begins tell the story of the girls journey from living to limbo, and her struggle to "let things go" and move up to heaven. During this time, she is able to dictate how her family deals with her murder. Very strange, and at times too strange. It felt like it was being strange for the fun of it.

Had the fit woman off the Mummy in though, so that was alright.

Going to buck the trend here.

    Expendables (chrissie prezzie DVD job).

Too predictable and most of the best bits had already been on the trailer. Felt cheated by the cameo's of Willis and the Big Austrian. Each was seen in one very small scene and that was that.

Also Big Steve Austin (former WWE "champion") is even worse an actor than the Austrian former body builder.....

Didn't get to see it in 3D sadly, just regularly via my friend named Mr. Netflix. William loved it.

    Prince of Persia

A bit like the video game.

Press button 'B' and he climbs the wall, hold button 'C' to make him jump further etc etc.

Mildly diverting but ultimately tedious. Like watching someone else play the game.

    Robin Hood

Mildly better the second time around.

Russell Crowe's accent is still distracting and the WWII landing craft made of wood are still ridiculous but I warmed a bit to it.

    I am Legend

Will Smith vehicle and his improved acting (see I robot) was much in evidence.Top performance.
Thought the graphics were rubbish, mutants about as believable as the tooth fairy.
Directorially it was poor and there were gaping holes in the mechanics eg 3 years on but still mains electric available for table lamps in the evening (you dont just hook up a genny and off we go).
Why were there deer all over the place in a city, dont they eat grass?????
To much time showing the devastation etc and an
inattention to detail ended up distracting me, so for that alone I give 6/10

Once saw "the quiet earth" where the whole thing was done much better.
The ending still baffles me to this day

    Taken

Action film about an ex-super spy who is on the hunt to get his daughter back from some Albanian sex trafficers. Proper lads film, this one. Was sat in my flat drinking a few cans, disucssing which female actress was fitter and whether the main actor was more awesome as Qui Gon Jin or the super spy. I went for the super spy.
