I do hope they get relegated.

If it is a joke, the BBC have fallen for it too.

They must have offered him a fortune this time, because Shearer has been very reluctant up to now.

You can see why he'd wait until this season is over - that way he can't be blamed if NUFC are relegated.

I never thought he'd have the bottle to take the job, but I suppose he's found a way of taking it in a no lose situation, they go down and it won't be his fault, they stay up and he will become every male geodies fantasy even more than now.

Would of been quality if it was an april fools. Thousands of Geordies take the day off to celebrate and get ratarsed to find out it was all a joke. Would of been priceless.

I reckon it's a wind up because they said he'll be "unveiled" tomorrow.
