dont know why anyone is surprised - we have mortgaged all the fixtures and fittings to the hilt - the first team squad has a lot of out of contract players in the summer depressing their value - the only thing we have left to sell is the family silver of our brightest young lads....

Kaide Gordon was offered a contract which he didn't sign and could have gone to Liverpool for virtually nothing. This report from FLW makes it sound like a fire sale. It was nothing of the sort. The lad wanted to go to Liverpool and there was little to nothing Derby could do other than try to get the best possible deal. The "3 to ManU" story isn't new either. Last month it was rumoured to be Knight, Sibley and Buchanan. Now it's 3 15 year olds from the Academy for a total of £750K. IMO it's no more than journalists needing to fill their quota and, in the absence of real facts, they create some.....

Are sports journalists taking leaves out of the BJ book on responsible journalism?

It is what it is we are in a bad financial situation and most likely struggling to survive . Three quarters of a mill for three kids who are not guaranteed to make it I think we have little choice. If this uncertainty goes on I can see us having no academy at all. If this uncertainty goes on we might not have a club.

FLW is not the most renowned news outlet by a country mile. A month ago it was 3 lads in our 1st team squad on their way to OT. Now it's 3 15 year olds. I doubt the veracity of "stories" on FLW and this looks like last month's rehashed with different players..........
